We are off to Australia, New Zealand & Fiji on October 18th. It will be a whirlwind trip which will include 10 flights in 20 days covering tons of air miles. This blog is being set up to record our trip and share it with friends, relatives and whoever cares to read our ramblings and look at our pics. Feel free to comment & ask questions any time you want. This blog is meant to keep in touch while we are gone, so don't expect to get any postcards from us.
Below is our tentative intinerary:
October 18: Flight to LAX and catch non-stop connection to Brisbane on Qantas flight 16.
October 19: Still in the air.........
October 20: Finally arrive in Brisbane at 6:10 a.m. Check into Metro Hotel Tower Mill. Cruise the river and the city
October 21: Depart Brisbane for Cairns, then bus to Port Douglas. Stay for 3 nights at Mercure Port Douglas Treetops.
October 22: Snorkeling out at Great Barrier Reef with Wavelength Tours.
October 23: Guided tour to Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.
October 24: Bus to Cairns and hop on flight to Melbourne. Check into Travelodge Southbank Melbourne. Mark's Birthday dinner!
October 25: Great Ocean Road Tour
October 26: Explore Melbourne
October 27: Take flight to Queenstown New Zealand then to Te Anau and check into Fiordland Lakeview Motel. Tour the Glow Worm Caves
October 28: Tour to Milford Sound Cruise and back
October 29: Back to Queenstown to catch flight to Auckland and check into Metro Suites Serviced Apartments. Explore Auckland.
October 30: Off to Fiji! Flight to Nadi then a transfer to Navini Island by resort staff.
October 31 - November 3: 4 day island stay for fun & sun and no TV!
November 3: Flight to Sydney and check into Shangri-La Hotel.
November 4: Explore Sydney and check out either Bondi Beach or Balmoral Club.
November 5: Sydney Harbour Sunset Cocktail and Dinner Cruise on the Blue Room
November 6: Blue Mountains High Country and Wildlife Park Tour. Group dinner at Shangri-La Hotel
November 7: Mark to conference, Judy to explore Sydney. Gala Dinner Dance at the Sydney Opera House
November 8: Mark attending business conference, Judy to explore Sydney some more.
November 9: Depart Sydney 11:50 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles. Catch connecting flight to SFO and arrive at 10:20 a.m., 90 minutes before we left!
In case you were wondering how to post a comment, it's easy. At the bottom of each post, there is an indicator of the author and time of the post. Just to the right of that is the "Comments" counter. Click on that and a window will pop up to drop your comment in.
